{Brunch} at Tiffany’s

“I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick…I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in miracles…I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe tomorrow is another day.”

-Audrey Hepburn

If you could go back in time and have lunch with anyone, who would it be? I would choose to dine with Audrey Hepburn. She was classy, kind, and had impeccable style. Her legacy of elegance and glamour lives on through the movies she starred in; one of the most iconic being, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”.

For my 19th birthday, my parents planned a sophisticated “Brunch” at Tiffany’s themed party for family and friends to come and enjoy. It was a delightful celebration complete with a life-size cardboard cutout of Audrey herself (who now lives in my apartment haha!). The party was so much fun that I decided to re-create it for my college gal pals.

The decorations were easy thanks to Pepper Avenue, for creating the perfect “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” party package, and mom, for saving all of the leftovers from the original party. All of the paper cutouts you see in this post came from Pepper Avenue. Look at how cute these photo booth props are!

The tablescape, although simple, was my favorite feature. I adorned it in a ‘little black dress’ and accessorized with chunky crystals. My mom made the framed Audrey quotes which double as great party favors. If you look closely at the plastic-ware, you can see that I added a little touch of bling by hot gluing a rhinestone to the bottom of each utensil.

You should have been a fly on the wall for this comical set up. I borrowed a neighbor’s table and chairs to double the seating because my table only seats four. Once Tori (my roommate) and I had the tables and chairs all situated in the middle of our living room, I didn’t like how crowded it looked because of our other furniture and the room is small to begin with. So what did I do? I made Tori help me move the tables and chairs again so we could shove our upholstered chairs in the laundry room. It was so worth it though!

The spread was especially fun to put together because it meant trying new recipes. The menu included:

Dishes:

Beverages:

  • Pineapple Orange Juice
  • Coffee

To add extra Tiffany’s flare, I played the movie on mute while the record player sang.

Happy Brunching!

From the looks of it you had a very memory party. You did a great job with the decorations also. If I’m ever considering throwing a themed party I know to consult Pepper Avenue.
